Art for sale!

So as you know I've recently created a deviantART profile, and it took of well... 547 views in only a few days.!

So I've decided to take it a step further and offer prints for sale on the same site.

There is a lot more fractals that i have uploaded now and they are all a lot better than the first few that I created so go check them out!

I guess I can call myself an actual digital artist now!

New job.

Well,

Insignia contacted me through Underground Systems asking if I would like to be part of the team creating a new phreaking site, I accepted his offer and have since been helping out where I can.

The site is: DarkScape Designs

And the forum is: DarkScape Designs Proboard

We're currently still designing the site so there will be times when you wont be able to connect to it, but it shouldn't be too long until the site is fully operational.

As for the forum, It's working perfectly right now (I hope) so go check it out. It is in the first stages at the moment so might take a month-ish to get some traffic and REAL discussions going.

Blog Frequency...

For the last week I have been posting blogs almost once a day, I've been able to do this thanks to a great two week holiday.

Unfortunately good things don't always last forever, and tomorrow the holiday ends. This means that I wont be posting everyday, more like once or twice a week.

So I not abandoning my blog, I'm just going to be a little busier.

Thanks guys.

Project Pyramid 5: Basic Models

Today I had a little spare time, so I thought I better make the computer versions of my earlier sketches that I promised back then.

Now I made these on Google SketchUp, which is a 3D graphic editor. I find it very easy to use though there are something that it just doesn't like doing (It's free and well worth those few frustrating moments).

If you don't already have SketchUp then I reckomend ready have SketchUp then I reckommend downloading it from here.

As you will see I have made a few changes... the one verticle strip of clouded acrylic is now two horizontal ones, the "cap" the rests ontop of the main part is now a little bigger.

This is a basic model so no hardware show yet.

Project Pyramid 4: Cooling Method Revised

Well, after a little discussion on Underground Systems I have changed the way that "Kamenwati" will be cooled...

It was going to be cooled using multiple fans on the base of the case and a hole in the top, I was thinking that this would push the hot air out and replace it with some nice cold air... Now I have realized that the fans will replace the hot air with more hot air (not good!) so I have gone back to water cooling to keep the case chilled.

It's not too big a change and I will still probably keep the hole in the top, just as a vent.

GravityCalc

I've had this project in the back of my head for a while now... start of this year?

It's a program that calculates the gravity produced by an object.

Anyway... my and BlackJack were talking on the IRC about our latest projects and it came up. Well as BlackJack is the Python Guru and I'm just starting to learn it he offers to help me make it while walking me through the code...

...a few hours later we finally finished it.

I have to say that it is coded entirely by BlackJack.... I just gave him the idea and the formulas.

Enjoy!

Code:
Mass = float(raw_input("Object one's mass: "))
Height = float(raw_input("Objects Height: "))
Gf = (((6.67 * 10 ** -11) * Mass)*(5.9742 * 10 ** 24)/(Height/2)*10**6)
F = Mass * 9.7
print F - Gf
Remember that it's written in python.

It definitely is not exact and I don't know if anyone here will have any use for it, but we think it's the first of it's kind and we're pretty proud

Project Pyramid 3: Rough Sketches

So last night I did a few rough sketches so that I could get some of my ideas down on paper.

Now I am definitely not an artist and these sketches are extremely basic but I guess it's still something. When I have the time I'll draw better versions using the computer, I promise that they'll be better than the ones I drew last night.

Well anyway. Enjoy!

A quick sketch of the front... I've shown a couple of disk drives, an LCD and a mini USB hub though I have no idea what I'm going to put in it. For instance I've already combined the hub with the screen, so the finished sketch will probably look very different to this one. Also you can see a line running down the center of the front panel. This will be a clouded acrylic strip, So that light from the blue LEDs will shine through without you seeing straight into the box. I've already talked about the rest so I'll just let you look for them.

This is a view of the front panel as if you were looking from the side. This is just to show that everything on the front section will be upright and slightly set into the case. This will probably mean that making the case will be harder but it make installing the hardware a lot easier if it's straight.

This view of the back panel shows you the window. I will use thumb screws and three small metal plates to secure the window.

F***... I have just realized that I've made a biggish mistake. This back panel is now just a clear acrylic panel, no window just a clear back panel... The removable panel will now be either the left, right or both side panels.

Anyway... the clouded line will also be on the back panel.

My last sketch is a birds eye view of the case. Nothing fancy just a little more info though.

I'll post the computer made versions a little later, as now it's time for some gaming!

Graphics...

I've been dabbling with photoshop recently and now that I have a little experience I decided to see if I could make myself a worthwhile Forum Signature...

30ish minutes later I come up with this:

I had to shrink it to fit it in the blog so the high quality version can be found here.

Gadget Ideas.

Well I love playing around with electronics... and it's even better when it ends up making me something useful. I've been looking up a few ideas and came up with these:

TV Remote Jammer - Finally... I have found the key to my freedom!

Cellular Interceptor - Always fun!

I'll post some more later...

Project Pyramid 2: "Kamenwati"

So after a lot of Google searches I have finally found a name for my future rig: "Kamenwati" which means Dark Rebel in Egyptian (keeping the the pyramid theme going).

So now it has a name the next stage is to draw up some sketches. I've been looking around for some inspiration. It seems that every pyramid case mod I can find is just a plain clear acrylic shape with a few LEDs inside, hopefully I will be able to make something that looks a little more technical (without it being too technical for me to make!).

Here are a few of the other pyramid cases out there:

The Great Pyramid - I don't consider this to be an actual case mod, as the case was bought as a finished case.

Pyramid Of Light - A simple clear plastic case. Still interesting to look through the pictures of it's construction.

A Desktop Seventh Wonder - Still simple clear plastic, but i like the lighting. Take a look at picture 8.

Well I guess i better get sketching. Maybe after I've cooked some dinner...

Project Pyramid 1: My latest project.

I've had the idea of making my own case for a long time now... and I've slowly been putting my ideas together.

I've still got to sketch my ideas out onto paper but my general idea involves a pyramid, black on three sides but a clear window on the back side and the bottom. The top point and the four corners will all have clear acrylic points that overlap about an inch onto the main part of the case. I will use blue LEDs and other blue lights to make the case glow blue. I will also try and put a clouded line of acrylic down the middle of each side so that light still comes through, without being able to see anything inside.

Other ideas will come to me, but feel free to post any ideas that you have. I'll post some sketches later as well.
